Dictionary 4 Life
1/1

Since 2012, the Club has subscribed to the Dictionary 4 Life Scheme.  An illustrated dictionary is presented to children at the end of their last term at primary school.  Initially, dictionaries were presented to one school in the Club’s area but this has now expanded to three schools and we present over 130 dictionaries each year.  Each dictionary has space to collect autographs and comments from school friends.  These mementos of their time at school could be useful later on if they wished to regain contact with school friends.

Wherever possible the presentation is made at a school assembly.  Here, President John Hadler speaks to the children of Lowther School, Barnes, before presenting the dictionaries to the Leavers.  We are assured by the school that the younger children all look forward to receiving their dictionaries as they reach the end of their time at the school.
